Compassion Care Services

Compassion Care Services

Compassion Care Services is located in Western North Carolina and operates from a purpose-designed, community-focused facility created to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families across the lifespan. Our location serves as both the operational base for Compassion Care Services and a collaborative community resource, intentionally designed to reduce barriers to care and increase access to integrated supports.

The facility houses our adult day program and administrative offices, while also serving as a shared hub for complementary service providers that benefit individuals with IDD and their caregivers. Onsite and affiliated resources may include therapy services, counseling supports, caregiver education, and wellness-focused providers. This model allows individuals and families to access multiple supports in a familiar, inclusive environment rather than navigating fragmented systems across multiple locations.

Our space is designed with accessibility, sensory awareness, and dignity in mind. The environment emphasizes calm, predictable layouts, flexible programming areas, and accommodations that support diverse communication, sensory, and mobility needs. The location also prioritizes community integration, with programming and partnerships that encourage social connection, independence, and meaningful participation in the broader community.

Compassion Care Services’ location reflects our mission to build a bridge between clinical excellence, person-centered care, and community inclusion. By creating a centralized, collaborative setting, we aim to support not only the individuals we directly serve, but also families, caregivers, and partner organizations throughout the region. This approach strengthens outcomes, promotes continuity of care, and reinforces our commitment to best practices aligned with IBCCES standards.

Compassion Care Services is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for individuals of all abilities. Our facility is designed to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by minimizing physical, sensory, and environmental barriers.

The location offers step-free entry and accessible parking to ensure safe and convenient access to the building. Interior spaces include wide doorways and hallways that accommodate mobility devices such as wheelchairs and walkers. Restrooms are designed to support accessibility and personal care needs, with layouts that allow for safe transfers and assistance when required.

The interior layout emphasizes clear navigation and predictable pathways to support individuals with cognitive or sensory processing differences. Programming areas are flexible and adaptable to meet a range of physical, communication, and support needs. Designated quiet or low-stimulation areas are available for individuals who may benefit from reduced sensory input.

Sensory-aware environmental features, including controlled lighting, reduced visual clutter, and calming color palettes, are incorporated throughout the facility to support comfort and regulation. Staff are trained to recognize and respond to individual accessibility needs and to make reasonable accommodations as needed to promote participation, dignity, and independence.

Through these accessibility features, Compassion Care Services strives to create a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment that aligns with best practices and accessibility standards recognized by IBCCES.
