Mesa Fire and Medical Department (MFMD) was established in 1898. The department has grown to twenty-two stations serving a population of more than half a million residents over 133 square miles.
The mission is to serve with CARE (compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence).
MFMD has an all-hazards response model that provides the highest level of emergency medical care, fire suppression, rescue, and emergency transportation services to the community. Additionally, fire prevention and community risk reduction programs support community safety and risk reduction through inspection and education programs, helping to prevent fires and other dangers before they occur.
