Child Willing Specialist Rehabilitation Center Renews Certified Autism Center™ Designation

Child Willing Specialist Rehabilitation Center

Child Willing Specialist Rehabilitation Center renews its designation as a Certified Autism Center™ (CAC), a credential awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) to organizations that demonstrate a commitment to ongoing training and accessibility to better serve individuals with autism and other cognitive differences.

As a leading pediatric rehabilitation center in Bahrain, Child Willing has consistently prioritized inclusive, evidence-based care for children with developmental and neurological challenges. The renewal of the CAC designation underscores the center’s ongoing dedication to providing high-quality, compassionate services tailored to each child’s unique needs.

“At Child Willing Specialist Rehabilitation Center, we believe every child deserves a safe, understanding, and inclusive environment,” says Amina Alhanafi, director of the center. “Becoming a Certified Autism Center™ is part of our ongoing commitment to providing specialized, high-quality care to children on the autism spectrum and their families.”

To earn this renewal, staff at Child Willing completed updated autism-specific training and certification through IBCCES. This training helps ensure that therapists and support staff are equipped with the latest research-based strategies to create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all children and their families.

The center’s autism-friendly features include noise-cancelling headphones, fidget tools, visual communication aids, calming low-sensory therapy rooms, personalized care plans, and dietary flexibility. Each team member is trained to accommodate sensory sensitivities and communication preferences, making therapy sessions more effective and comfortable for every child.

“IBCCES is proud to continue our partnership with Child Willing Specialist Rehabilitation Center, which has shown outstanding commitment to providing inclusive, person-centered care,” says Myron Pincomb, CEO and board chairman of IBCCES. “Their continued efforts serve as a model for other pediatric and rehabilitation providers across the region.”

For over two decades, IBCCES has been a global leader, setting the industry standard in autism and cognitive differences training. IBCCES works in over 111 countries and provides training in 8 languages, and its programs have been recognized around the world as the leading benchmark in training and certification.

In addition to individual certification programs, IBCCES partners with cities, destinations, and organizations on initiatives like the Certified Autism Destination™ (CAD) and Autism Certified City™ (ACC), ensuring autistic and sensory-sensitive residents and visitors feel welcomed and safe. Destinations that achieve the CAD designation have completed a specialized program that ensures a multitude of recreation, hospitality and entertainment organizations have completed an autism and sensory-sensitivity training, certification and IBCCES facilities review process. The ACC designation expands on that program and includes IBCCES training and certification for the public safety, education, healthcare and workplace sectors.

IBCCES also created the Accessibility AppAutismTravel.com, and CertifiedAutismCenter.com – free resources for individuals with a variety of neurodiversities and disabilities, listing certified locations and connecting individuals to other resources and each other.
